Rami Qahwaji is a Reader in Visual Computing. He got his BSc in electrical engineering from the University of Mustansiriyah (Baghdad) in 1994, MSc in control and computer engineering from the same university in 1997 and PhD in designing automated imaging systems in 2002 from Bradford University (UK). He is currently the principal investigator for two 3-year EPSRC grants, total value of around 425K GBP. The first grant is (EP/F022948/1), entitled 'Image Processing, Machine Learning and Geometric Modelling for the 3D Representation of Solar Features', while the second is (GR/T17588/01) entitled 'Image Processing and Machine Learning Techniques for Short-Term Prediction of Solar Activity'. He was also involved in 2 small EPSRC grants (GR/S62758/01) and (GR/S84699/01).

His publications include around 100 refereed publications including 3 books, 9 book chapters and 25 journal papers. He has around 32 invited talks (Key note and invited talks) and conference presentations and 13 PhD completions. Rami is a Charted Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), and a member of various professional organisations.He has refereed research proposals for different national and international grant awarding bodies. He is also a member of the editorial board and advisory board for different international journals and organisations and a reviewer for several international journals and conferences. He is also the conference Co-Chair for the International Conference on Cyberworlds 2009 (UK) and also (CSAA09) (Egypt).

Dr. Colak had B.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Technical University of Istanbul. After working as a software engineer for 3 years at OEA International at different industrial projects, he joined the University of Bradford for MSc in Real-time Power Electronics and Control Systems.

From 2005 till 2008 he worked as a research assistant in University of Bradford while continuing his PhD.He is currently postdoctral research assistant in Centre for Visual Computing at the University of Bradford.

His research interests include algorithm design, programming, image processing, machine learning, and space weather.

Dr Ipson, MInstP, is a Senior Lecturer in the Electronic Imaging and Media Communications department at the University of Bradford.

Originally trained as a physicist, with a first class Honours degree in Applied Physics and a PhD in Theoretical Nuclear Physics, his current research expertise includes image processing, pattern recognition and the design of machine vision systems.

His imaging research interests have covered a variety of applications including video-rate de-blurring of millimetre wave images, vision based control of industrial machinery, face recognition, recognition of cursive Arabic handwriting, ASIC based motion detection for surveillance using multiple cameras, photogrammetry applied to rural and urban landscapes and the detection of solar features. He has over 70 book and journal publications. His current research interests include solar imaging, space weather, machine learning, and 3D modelling from 2D images.

Omar is currently a full-time PhD student working in the field of automated detection and tracking of solar features and activities. He received his Higher National Diploma in Software Development from Bradford College in 2006 and graduated from Bradford University with a first class B.Sc honors degree in Software Development Application in 2007.

His research interests include; space weather, digital image processing and machine learning.

Jamal is currently a full-time PhD student working in the field of Superresolution images, anaglyphs for the 3D STEREO and patterns recognition. He received his B.Sc degree from Al-Isra private university in computer science in 1999, and his Master degree from AABFS in Information System in 2001.

His research interests include; 3D STEREO mission, digital image processing and 3D modelling from 2D images.

Sofyan is currently a full-time PhD student working in the field of 3D analysis and modeling of solar images features and activities. He received his Bsc.(2005) and Msc.(2007) degrees in electrical engineering (communications and electronics) from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan. His research interests include Algorithms development, Digital image processing, 3D modeling and reconstruction of solar images, Communication theory, Digital communications, digital signal processing and optimization.

Mohammad is currently a full-time Assistant Professor in Applied Science University (Jordan). He received his B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Communications and Electronics) from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan, in 2005 and 2006, respectively and PhD from University of Bradford in 2010.

His research interests include computer vision, space weather, digital communications and digital signal processing. Mohammad has completed his PhD in space weather from this group.
